Low Dwarves

... lay to the East of the DWARF_BORDER MODULE. The region includes much land bordering on the great Toltaw River known as the far Dwarf Lake, Land of the Lake or Low Dwarves, some portions of the Howling Mountains and the Illfaw Fen. These encompass nearly TWO-HUNDRED Area maps of 16 x 16 TILES.

The dwarves are secretive and secrets they keep. Can you suss the secrets? Most who would know soon lay strangely still with hammer-shaped impressions somewhere about their skull. So it is said. So little shall be said here. Value my life I do.

The LOW_DWARVEN MODULE gives access to the DWARF_BORDER MODULE, the ORCWILDS MODULE, the HOWLING MOUNTAINS MODULE, and the EASTERN WILDS MODULE.

Dwarves of the Lake

One may think this a funny place to find dwarves, but there you have it. The lake they claim and the lake they guard as their own. If it is any consolation to you dwarf-purists out there, it IS a lake at the foot of the Howling Mountains.

Humans have (with dwarven permission) established a stronghold in the area, known to the humans of the City of Dohral as the Eastern Citadel where the humans provide services in harvesting logs shipped by their lumberjacking counterparts upstream via the Toltaw River.

The Howling Mountains

Any dwarf will tell you, these are but the remotest parts of the Howling Mountains and as such are hardly worthy of the name. Still, this is where the Lake Clan Dwarves dwell, and they are proud of their homeland. Proud of their grand defenses and proud of their crafts in general.

The dwarves engage in some trade of dwarven crafted armor and weapons with the humans of the city. They guard ever against orc incursions, and toil ceaselessly at refining their own defensive structures. This in spite of nearly 100 years of peaceful existence with the humans of the City of Dohral (who are sometimes heard to wonder aloud regarding the dearth of orc armies). The dwarves speak only of orcish incursions and the need for stout defenses to repel the invaders, and they take their own advice seriously, very seriously. Dwarven patrols will intercept and detain any found on their territory, which they post prominently.

The Illfaw Fen

A foul and fetid land of damp earth and sodden odors. There are rumors of giants in the fen, and worse still are the tales of the Fenshadows, Lizardfolk, and beastmen. Wise is he who avoids this land. Even the dwarves do not patrol into the Illfaw Fen.

The dark things which dwell here are not well known to any living soul. It is rumored that entrance to the great eastern jungles is found herein.
