The Northwood
... is located just north of the CORE MODULE. The region is the reputedly the home of Fey Folk, and sometimes haunt of Orc raiding parties. There are rumors of ruins and darker spirits of the forest which protect them. The NORTHWOOD MODULE aka The Northwood is an expansion MODULE which features much wilderness adventure opportunities, it offers access to the DOHRALWEST MODULE, the HAGMOTH MODULE, and the KLEG CRAGS.
The tales of this area are rife with encounters of Fey Folk, often wielding awesome magic, and evidencing the charm and craft for which the Fey are famous. It is not uncommon for a human child from nearby areas to go missing and the loss blamed upon the Fey Folk and evil forest magic. The woodsmen all advise to shun the deep Northwood. They attest to any who would hear of the horrors inflicted upon their own numbers by the dark spirits which guard forest secrets.
The Dark Ascent
Deep forest clings to the steep walls of mountains which climb into the northern distance. Among the dark and twisted paths are to be found grottoes fantastic and gullies foul. All travelers are warned to be mindful of the many eyes which are sure to follow any who enter the Toltaw forest. Entry into this region is typically via the Toltaw Bridge in the south, but egress may also be had (according to some few dwarves who claim it to be the source of the orc raiders) via a high pass in the north. Still, no living ranger nor woodsman have spoken of finding any such pass and most leave it all as nothing more than tall tales from short folk.
A Journey West
There are those who propose that a route to the west must certainly exist somewhere among the twisted trails of the Toltaw or even among the lower reaches of the Eastern Kleg Mountains. Still, like the High Orc Pass, no-one has ever returned claiming to have found it, and so another rich tid-bit is added to local folklore.
ADDED BONUS
This module is intended as a wilderness and ruins-searching bonanza for those brave enough to attempt these difficult lands.
